All glass tube’s internal pressure exert a bending force on the tube and therefore, the longer the tube the higher the likelihood of breakage due to this bending. Also, where corrosive material such as steam is in the tube the wear on the tube further weakens its resistance to pressure. Red Line Heavy Wall is recommended for steam service.
